Compare Dimensional Letter Sizes

Choose the letter height based on message length, available wall space, viewing distance, and how prominent the finished lettering should be.

Choose Dimensional Letters for the Wall

Character height is only one part of sizing a dimensional letters sign. A longer practice or department name requires more horizontal space than a short one, even when both use the same letter height.

Before ordering, measure the usable wall area and consider the full message, surrounding furniture, doors, monitors, artwork, and other architectural elements. A reception desk or feature wall may provide plenty of overall width but much less usable space once those elements are considered.

Viewing distance matters too. Letters intended mainly for someone standing at a reception desk can be smaller than lettering meant to identify a practice or department from across a large waiting area.

Custom Dimensional Letters

Use custom dimensional letters when the message needs to match the facility rather than a stock sign. The current products allow buyers to configure custom text along with available symbol, color, and mounting options.

That makes dimensional lettering useful for practice and facility names, specialty or department identification, reception-wall branding, and other messages intended to become part of the surrounding architecture.

Plan the Installation Before Ordering

Determine the exact wording and intended placement before choosing the letter height. Larger characters increase impact, but they also increase the overall footprint of the finished installation.

For longer names or tighter walls, moving down a size may produce a more balanced result than forcing larger letters into the available space. For short names on expansive walls, a larger size can prevent the finished lettering from appearing unbalanced.
