Installation
Install the door handle marking behind or immediately adjacent to the door handle so the luminous field remains clearly visible around the hardware and the EXIT message can be readily seen.
Foam tape strips aid installation. Depending on the mounting surface, silicone adhesive may also be appropriate. Follow the installation guide and make sure the marking does not interfere with operation of the door or hardware.
Compliance
Under 2024 IBC Section 1025.2.6.2, qualifying door hardware within required luminous egress paths must be identified with at least 16 square inches of luminous material behind, immediately adjacent to, or on the door handle or escutcheon.
