It's becoming more and more common these days for places to become smoke-free. The health and well-being of visitors and patients is the #1 priority in a healthcare facilities, so it's no surprise that almost all of them enforce strict no smoking rules. Even though it seems obvious that a healthcare facility would prohibit smoking, that's not always the case. Some people are genuinely unaware of these rules, and others are aware of them but think they can get away with smoking anyway.

Smoking in a healthcare facility is prohibited for many reasons: it is a fire hazard, it's distracting, and in a place where people are ailing and have compromised immune systems—it's unhealthy and dangerous. No Smoking Signs serve as an informative tool for those who don't know the rules, and as a reprimand for those who do know and are breaking those rules.

We have several different types of No Smoking Signs. Some of them are message-only signs and warn visitors of the presence of oxygen. Others identify a non-smoking area and feature a picture of a cigarette with a red circle and slash through it. Some are meant to be mounted on a wall, and others come in the form of a door tag. In healthcare facilities, rooms can often change purposes and function depending on the needs of the staff at the time. Sometimes oxygen may be stored in that room, other times it may not. A door tag is the ideal sign to use in those cases—it can easily be moved from door handle to door handle as the function of that room changes.
