When to Choose an Extended Layout
An extended four- or five-line sign may be the right fit when:
- One or more lines exceed the standard character limit
- A department or specialty name contains a long phrase
- The message requires width more than additional lines
- The sign must coordinate with standard 4/5-line signs in the same collection
Start with the longest line in the message. A sign may need the extended format even when the total wording comfortably fits within four or five lines.
