Compare Oxygen Storage Sign Formats

Choose an oxygen storage sign based on how the room or storage area needs to be identified and where the message will be viewed.

Wall-mounted designs are available in several coordinating sign collections, with sizes including 5.5" x 5.5", 5.625" x 5.625", 6" x 6", 6.5" x 6.5", and other compact formats. Many include both no-smoking and no-open-flame symbols along with the oxygen storage message.

Projecting options mount perpendicular to the wall, making the message easier to see when approaching from a hallway. Available projecting designs include 5.5" x 5.5" oxygen storage and oxygen storage/no-smoking messages.

Magnetic Options for Temporary Placement

Magnetic formats provide a removable option when the storage location or room use may change. Available magnetic signs include 5" x 3" and 9" x 2" sizes, with oxygen storage and no-smoking oxygen storage messages sold in packs of six.

The 9" x 2" No Smoking Oxygen Storage magnetic sign is made from scratch- and chemical-resistant Lexan plastic and is designed for temporary placement on compatible metal door frames or other metal surfaces. It's intended for interior use.

For a location that will remain dedicated to oxygen storage, choose a permanent wall-mounted or projecting sign rather than relying on temporary magnetic placement.

Oxygen Storage Signage Requirements

Oxygen storage signage requirements can vary according to the quantity and type of oxygen being stored, the facility, and applicable federal, state, and local regulations.

For bulk oxygen systems covered by OSHA 29 CFR 1910.104, the storage location must be permanently placarded with an oxygen, no-smoking, and no-open-flames warning, or equivalent wording. OSHA defines the specific storage capacities covered by that standard, so it shouldn't be assumed to apply identically to every medical oxygen storage situation.

HealthcareSigns.com recommends placing oxygen storage signs outside rooms where oxygen is stored so the warning is visible before someone enters the space. Confirm the requirements that apply to your specific facility and storage arrangement before selecting and installing signage.

Coordinate Oxygen Storage and In-Use Messaging

Storage areas and rooms where oxygen is actively being used serve different purposes and may need different messages. Use storage signs to identify locations where oxygen is kept, and Oxygen In Use Signage where the warning needs to communicate active oxygen use.
