Every healthcare facility has to deal with a lot of issues that don't relate to health care. One of these issues is parking, and directing traffic. With the thousands and thousands of visitors that can go through a major healthcare facility every day, it's vital that they have excellent traffic control signs and parking signs. Both types of signs contribute an invaluable service to the healthcare facility and to the drivers who create the traffic; they get people where they need to go, without having to use facility workers or labor hours to do it.

Traffic Control Signs

Traffic control signs are all about directing traffic and letting drivers know where they can and can't go. Parking signs are all about designating space and defining the parking areas of the healthcare facility.

One of the biggest headaches that healthcare facilities run into is securing spots for their workers and administrative officials. Reserved spots are tough to maintain in practically any environment, but when it is amid the hustle and bustle of a busy hospital parking deck or parking lot, well, it can get even worse. That's why it is important to have sturdy, well made and very clear parking signs that designate the spots as belonging to whomever needs to park there. HSI has a wide variety of signs for just this purpose, with clear directives and easy to read lettering that stands out from the rest of the parking spaces.

HSI also has a great variety of parking signs that aren't for administrative and worker-related reserved spots. One way that many companies and hospitals choose to reward conscientious drivers is by giving them the best parking spaces at their facilities. For instance, HSI produces a sign that says "Reserved parking for carpool vehicles only." Not only does that reward groups who are smart enough to carpool, it keeps less cars in the parking lot at one time, preventing clutter and overcrowding. There are also signs protecting spots for people who drive hybrid vehicles, and parking signs for low emissions vehicles. In the always moving roil of the modern day healthcare facility parking lot, using prime spots as a reward for driving smart pays off in a lot of different ways. For one, it prevents a lot of movement near the door. For another, it rewards responsibility. And finally, it gives people a reason to think about carpooling, or perhaps making their next car a bit more environmentally friendly.

In general, parking signs can bring a sense of order to a busy parking lot, and help to organize and prioritize traffic.

Traffic control signs are excellent at doing this as well, but in different ways. Traffic control signs can be directional, helping drivers who are new to the facility find their way around the lot of the parking deck. If there's anything worse than getting lost inside a healthcare facility, it is getting lost in a parking deck outside of the healthcare facility. Good signs can prevent that from happening in most cases. Aside from letting people know where to go, they can give out information. "Attendant on Duty," for example, or some other piece of essential information that visitors and patients need to know when they park. At HSI, we believe in giving healthcare facilities the power to buy the signs they want to see, and that's why we make a line of traffic control signs for which our customers can choose the content. If you want a sign saying Level 4, we can make it. If you want it to point the way toward pediatrics or the O.R., we can make that for you too. With these parking signs, the power is in the hands of the client.
